Virtual Addiction: London Hopsital Opens Internet Addiction Rehab for “Screenagers”

The Capio Nightingale Hospital in London has launched a breakthrough in-patient rehabilitation program dedicated to teenagers suffering from internet addiction.  The program offers group therapy sessions along with one-on-one counseling for children as young as 12, and teenagers aged 15-17 years old.

The United States opened their first internet addiction recovery center last August.  Called, reSTART, the program is based outside Seattle and boasts a 45-day tech detoxification process, featuring everything from individual therapy to wilderness adventures, fitness activities and academic tutoring.

Richard Graham, spokesperson for London’s Capio Nightingale Hospital, said their treatment facility’s aim is to “transform screenagers back into teenagers.”
