Social Networks: Social Network Brings Children and Parents Together
Next week, a new online social networking site designed for young children to interact with their parents launches. Called Togetherville, the free site allows children to play games, view prescreened videos, and create and share art. Parents must be Facebook members to sign their children up on the site which, in addition to parents, encourages children to interact with their grandparents and other trusted adults, a feature controlled by the child’s parent. All comments that children or adults type on the site must be approved by Togetherville staff before it is published. Togetherville boasts age-appropriate content and does not show advertising to children.
