Social Networks: Facebook Helps Find Kidnapped Children

Facebook has something to smile about. Thanks to the social networking giant, a California mother was able to find her children who were kidnapped 15 years ago.  The woman’s ex-husband, Faustino Ultera, allegedly kidnapped their 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son in 1995, and then fled to Central Florida after years of running from the police.

The mother logged onto her Facebook account and randomly typed in her missing children’s names, only to spot a photo that looked like her daughter. She “friended” the girl and they began talking. Ultera was later arrested and is awaiting extradition to California.
