Social Networks: Concerned About Privacy, NYU Students Set To Build Facebook Alternative
Four New York University students have teamed up to build what they call Diaspora, a Facebook alternative that will put users in control of their own personal information. To date, they have received $100,000 for their endeavor via fundraising efforts.
The foursome of programmers (including Daniel Grippi, Maxwell Salzberg, Ilya Zhitomirskiy and Raphael Sofaer) plan to build the web server this summer.
