Sexting: Several Students in Pearland, TX Face Sexting Charges

Several students at Pearland Junior High School are facing criminal charges for forwarding a nude photograph of a fellow student to their friends. It all started when a girl sent an intimate photo of herself  to a boy she liked. After the couple had a falling-out, the boy forwarded the photo to several of his friends and the chain reaction grew from there.  All of the students charged are under 17-years-old and could get jail time of up to a year plus a hefty fine for this Class A misdemeanor charge pending against them.

Pearland Police Luitenant Onesimo Lopez stated, “They’re intimate photos that really have no business being sent out. Once it’s sent, there’s no getting it back. They really need to consider the things that they want out and ultimately distributed.”
