Sexting: New York City Proposes Suspending Students Caught Sexting

The New York City Department of Education has called for a city-wide ban of sexting in public schools, even if students engage in the act while they’re not in school. Under the new rule which could go into effect as early as Wednesday, students caught sending sexually explicit text messages or photographs via cell phones or computers will be suspended from school for up to 90 days. In an effort to keep students more safe, the DOE has also proposed that students who cyber-bully be booted from class as well.
