Privacy: Young Adults Beginning to Rethink Online Privacy
According to a recent article in The New York Times, a telephone survey by the University of California, Berkeley found that over 50% of the 1,000 18-24 year-olds polled are more concerned about online privacy than they were 5 years ago, and 88% of the young adults surveyed said that they believe a law should be in place for Web sites to delete stored information. These figures prove that 18-24 year-olds are just as concerned about online privacy issues as their older counterparts.
The article also found that young adults are becoming more and more suspicious of social networks, and many of them are starting to delete their personal information off such sites. In a related trend, 18-24 year-olds are also starting to educate their peers about privacy as well.
