Privacy: Library of Congress Announces Acquisition of Entire Twitter Archive

The Library of Congress has officially announced that every public tweet since Twitter started in 2006 will now be digitally archived.  To top that, Google has plans to make the archive searchable.

As operator of the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program, the Library of Congress has been collecting digital information since 2000, when web sites were used in congressional and presidential elections.

The news creates even stronger consequences for teenagers who post inappropriate content on Twitter, as their posts will now remain a permanent fixture in history.
