Privacy: Four Senators Ask Facebook To Change Privacy Policy

Senators Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), Mark Begich (D-Alaska) and Al Franken (D-Minn.) joined Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) in a letter written to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of  Facebook, about their concerns over the social networking giant’s decision to allow third parties access to user’s private information.

The concerns are due mainly to the fact that users would have to opt-out (rather than the standard opt-in) to prevent their information from being shared.  In fact, it takes several clicks to even find the area where one can actually opt-out.

Schumer also asked the Federal Trade Commission to begin recommending social networking privacy guidelines for all social networks across the board.
