Internet Safety: Burglars Target Facebook and Twitter Users

The recent trend of criminals using online information to commit crimes has grown exponentially.  Users of social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter who post their whereabouts on the Internet are practically asking to be burglarized, according to insurance agencies overseas.

Sophisticated criminals are able to combine information using social networking websites and location-based tools like Google Earth which uses satellite and aerial imagery to show photographs of streets.  Some insurance agencies overseas are actually penalizing customers who announce their location on public sites by raising their rates.
