Games: Video Game About Sexual Assault Goes Viral

A graphic video game in which players have the opportunity to stalk, grope, assault, sexually abuse, and even impregnate young girls has been spreading like wild fire across the Internet.  The Japanese game, called RapeLay, ignited international outrage from women’s groups who helped remove the game from store shelves.  The controversy, however, led to the game going viral and it can now be found on video websites like YouTube, among other adult sites.

Japan has a history of offering similar games, known as “hentai” which offer pornographic and violent content, but with the advent of the Internet, games are now digitized and shared everywhere.
